6 of the Phoenix’s Best Chefs Work with Helton on a Beer Collaboration

PHOENIX, AZ – Prepare your palates! This October, locally owned and operated Willie Itule Produce and Helton Brewing join forces with 6 of the valley’s best chefs for a beer collaboration like no other. 

Founded in 1979, by Willie and Lynn Itule, Willie Itule Produce has been serving the freshest and highest quality products to AZ for the past 40 years. Now they will be serving up a lot more than produce! Willie Itule Produce has partnered with six chefs for an exciting and refreshing collaboration.  

The chef series collaboration started its conception early this summer with the Helton Brewing Company. Brian Helton is no stranger to the beer scene and a master of his craft. Masters is what can also be said of the six chefs who have decided to put down their knives, step out of the kitchen, and try a stab at brewing. Joining the collab is Chef Tamara Stanger of Cotton and Copper, Chef Jeff Kraus of Crepe Bar, Chef Ashley Goddard of Wrigley Mansion, Chef Adam Allison of Handlebar Diner, Chef Rochelle Daniel of Fat Ox and Chef Nick LaRosa of Nook Arcadia, Nook Downtown, Dilly Dally and The Bar. Known for pushing boundaries in the kitchen, or most recently on The Food Networks hit competition “Chopped,” these chefs have brought the same drive and inventiveness to this process and the beer. As leaders in redefining classics into haute cuisine, you can only imagine the ideas being thrown around the room. 

The goal was to combine fresh produce with the culinary expertise of these amazing chefs, and with the assistance and education of Brian Helton and his team, to concept a new beer that craft beer drinkers and culinary fans alike would be drawn to. 

The public can experience the first tasting with tapping on Friday, October 18th, at Helton Brewing Company. They are then released on Saturday, October 19th, within all establishments of the participating chefs as well as other local restaurants and craft beer bars. Carbonic Daucus

American-brewed sour ale designed intentionally to be tart by inoculating with souring bacteria. Carrots, Huckleberries, and Blood Oranges lend the unique color and flavor to this beer.  We decided to make this beer have a 3.2 pH level to match the characteristics in the middle to create a well-balanced sour ale.

An Evening Amongst Chefs

Before the public release, Willie Itule Produce and Helton Brewing Company will be hosting “An Evening Amongst Chefs” at Helton Brewing Company (2144 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016) on Thursday, October 17th from 7 pm-9 pm.

Beer lovers and foodies will be treated to a private meet and greet, plus hand passed pairings prepared by each chef. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase signed cans.
